Britons connect from long distance in win Albion College knocked down 11-of-18 shots from 3-point range to pull away for a 71-60 victory over Edgewood College of Madison, Wis., in opening round action of the College Basketball Classic hosted by the Albion Rotary Club. Chris Hutton (pictured at left) scored a career-high 19, sinking 5-of-7 shots from long range. Adam Hiday and Kolin Kazen scored in double figures for the first time in their collegiate careers with 12 and 10, respectively. Andre Bridges also contributed 10 points. Shaw scores 23 to lead Britons to victory Albion College jumped out to a 10-point lead midway through the second half, and even though the lead melted down to a single point with 6 ½ minutes remaining, Melissa Shaw (pictured at left) made a couple of baskets down the stretch as the Britons hung on for a 57-52 victory over Westminster College in the season opening game. 'Briton Huddle' reviews exciting football seasonAlbion College defeated Kalamazoo College and Alma College in the final two weeks of the season to surge into a tie for second place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association football standings. The Britons were rewarded for their fine season by placing 11 athletes on the all-league team. Effrem Grettenberger, '12, produced the football team's post-season edition of 'Inside the Briton Huddle'.
