Holly Williams scored first-place performances in the butterfly events and Rachael Restum touched the wall first in the 500-yard freestyle to lead Albion College in a 149-129 loss to Calvin College in a swimming & diving dual meet. Peter Lundholm won the distance freestyle events and Ty Lattimore swept the diving events in the men’s meet which Albion lost 171-124.
Albion College was defeated, 160-135, by Kalamazoo College in a women’s swimming & diving dual meet Saturday, but the Britons earned first place in six events. Emily Magyar (pictured at left) made a little splash in winning the 1- and 3-meter diving events, and Rachael Restum (500- and 1,000-yard freestyles), Sara Doogan (50 free), and Ashley Collins (200 breaststroke) touched the wall first in their respective swimming events. Ty Lattimore won the diving events as Albion lost the men’s meet to Kalamazoo by a score of 166.5-114.5.
Ty Lattimore (pictured at left) achieved a NCAA Division III Championships qualifying score in 1-meter diving, and he placed first in 3-meter diving, Rachel Restum swam to victory in the women’s 500- and 1,000-yard freestyle events, Ashley Collins and Nicki Rockentine finished first and second, respectively, in the women’s 200-yard breaststroke, and Emily Magyar took first place in both women’s diving events to lead Albion College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association swimming & diving dual meet at Hope College Friday night. The Britons will be in action inside the Dean Aquatic Center Nov. 14 when they dive into the pool against Calvin College.
