Shaw tabbed for MIAA Player of the Week award
Shaw, a junior from Jackson and a graduate of Northwest High School, scored 17 points in each game as Albion scored a 57-39 victory over Olivet College and dropped a 56-55 decision to Alma College last week. She knocked down all three of her shots from 3-point range and dished out four assists in the victory over Olivet. Shaw connected on all 12 of her opportunities from the free throw line and collected seven steals and six rebounds versus Alma.
In statistics for league games only through Jan. 9, Shaw leads the MIAA in steals (3.4 per game) and is third in scoring with an average of 14.4 points per game. She is also fourth in the league in assists (4.2 per game) and free throw percentage (.852, 23-of-27).
Albion is heading into a challenging week in which it will square off against the top two teams in the MIAA. The Britons will travel to Grand Rapids for a Wednesday night showdown against Calvin College and play host to Hope College at 3 p.m. Saturday.
