Watler is named the MIAA's Player of the Week
Albion’s all-time kills leader, Watler has driven 346 kills to the floor in 26 matches this season. In statistics for league matches only, she is fourth in the league in kills with an average of 3.47 per set. She is also fourth in the MIAA in service aces (averaging 0.38 per set) and eighth in digs (averaging 4.00 per set).
Watler also had 27 digs and four blocks in the victories over Saint Mary’s and Kalamazoo.
“She’s had an amazing career at Albion,” Albion coach Melissa Walton said. “People forget about her great defensive skills and that she is ranked among the league leaders in digs despite some excellent liberos. She is one of the most well rounded players in the league.”
Albion gained the fourth seed for the MIAA Tournament. The Britons will host Trine University for a first round match Tuesday at 7 p.m. inside Kresge Gymnasium.
