Help protect yourself and others from illness! Please wash your hands!
Most germs are harmless, but you can pick up some that cause illnesses when you forget to wash your hands. Washing your hands, and washing them properly with soap and water is the most effective way to prevent the spread of germs. Spreading germs to others or giving them to ourselves happens when we touch our eyes, mouths, noses or wounds with unclean hands. Remember soap, water, friction and an adequate amount of time is what is needed to clean your hands. How long to wash? The time it takes to sing "Happy Birthday" is an adequate amount of time. Liquid alcohol based hand sanitizers are a good substitute for washing when soap and water are not available. Remember "Scrub well and Scrub often".
If you are having respiratory or stomach illness, remember to check out the Self-Care Guide on-line or contact MY Nurse 24/7 at (toll free) 866/549-5083 to speak with an after hours triage nurse.
